 Тема урока: Открываем достопримечательности Лондона

Тип урока: комбинированный

Оборудование: учебник «Английский с удовольствием» 5 класс автор Биболетова М.З.; доска; компьютер, звуковое приложение к УМК, раздаточный материал (карточки с упражнениями).

Планируемые результаты:

Предметные:

- закреплять лексический и грамматический материал по теме;

- использовать и совершенствовать навыки устной речи (монолог)

- формировать языковые навыки (фонетические, лексические) в рамках темы

Личностные:

- проявлять интерес к новому содержанию;

- осознавать возможность использования имеющихся знаний в новой языковой ситуации;

- оценивать уровень собственной языковой компетенции;

- развивать мотивацию к дальнейшему изучению;

-Now it’s time to learn about new places of interest. Let’s start our excursion. We have some guides. Our guides will help us to learn some information about London’s sights. After our tour you will have some tasks. Be attentively and enjoy our excursion!

G1:the Tower of London

Welcome to London. We start our tour from the Tower of London. You can see the Tower of London from the river Thames. The tower is very old. It has a long and cruel history. It was a fortress, a royal palace and a prison for important people. Today it’s a museum. Special guards look after the Tower and take care of the black ravens that live there. There is an ancient legend that the Tower and Great Britain will fall if the ravens ever leave the fortress.

G2: Westminster Abbey

Now we are coming to Westminster Abbey. It is a symbol of England. The legend says that St Peter founded Westminster Abbey. We know that Westminster Abbey was built by King Edward in 1065. Some famous English people are buried here. Today, Westminster Abbey is a working church and a great monument to the history of England.

G3:Big Ben

Tourists in London always visit Westminster and Big Ben. Look! It’s Big Ben. Big Ben is really a bell. The bell is over 2 metres tall and chimes every quarter of an hour. Early in the morning you can hear it on the radio: “This is the BBC. The time is 6 o’clock”. And then you hear the deep boom of Big Ben 6 times. The tower of Big Ben is a symbol of London and of Britain. Big Ben stands near the Houses of Parliament.

G4:The Houses of Parliament

We are finishing our tour in the Houses of Parliament. The country’s leaders speak here. The Houses of Parliament stand beside the River Thames. You can go on a boat from Westminster and see London from the river. You can also see Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament from Westminster Bridge.
