Своя игра - Знаешь ли ты США и Великобританию

Цель: Расширение кругозора, развитие воображения и внимания.

Задачи :  

1. Развивать сообразительность, интуицию, любознательность.

2. Укреплять память.      

3. Стимулировать интерес учащихся к изучению иностранного языка.     

Оборудование: тематические картинки, вопросы для игры.

Ход  мероприятия.

Организационный момент.

• Hello, my dear boys and girls ! Glad to see you today. Do you like to play games? Today we will have a chance to take part in our game. We will have 3 stages. Each stage will have 4 topics. Each topic includes 5 questions. Each question has its price. You will try to get as many points as you can.

Учитель приветствует учащихся и сообщает им о проведении мероприятия «Своя игра». Данная игра проводиться по правилам, аналогичным телевизионному варианту. В игре принимают участие 5-6 человек. Участники отвечают на предложенные вопросы и в случае правильного ответа получают очки, которыми оценивается данный вопрос. Игра состоит из 3-х туров и финала. В каждом туре участникам предлагаются вопросы по 4 темам. Каждая тема содержит по 5 вопросов. Во всех турах принимают участие  все участники и набирают очки, отвечая на вопросы. В финал выходят все участники, кроме тех чей счёт в”-“. Из предложенных тем на финал , участники выбрасывают те темы, которые им не нравятся. В результате остаётся одна тема, на вопрос которой должны ответить участники. Каждый участник делает ставку на этот вопрос, но она не должна превышать количество очков, набранных участником. Участники пишут ставку и ответ на вопрос на листе бумаги. Тот, кто правильно  ответил и набрал наибольшее количество  очков является победителем.

Примечание. В игре встречается вопрос на аукцион( an  auction question). Это значит, что участник при ответе на вопрос может делать ставку (make a stake) на любую сумму , но не больше его суммы баллов. Если у участника сумма баллов в минусе, то ставка только по номиналу.

Вопрос под рубликой «a cat in a sack» (кот в мешке) означает отдать отвечать на вопрос другому участнику по своему выбору. Если другой участник отвечает на вопрос правильно, то ему прибавляются баллы.

Во банк ( I take my everything) можно делать в вопросе- аукционе, если нет минуса в количестве баллов.

На каждую игру отводится определённое количество времени (10-15 минут)

Game 1.

The UK: 

• 100 points. On what river does London lie? ( Thames) (an auction question)

• 300 points. How many countries does the UK consist of? (four)

• 500 points. Who is the head of the UK? (The Queen)

• 600 points. Who officially rules the UK? ( The Prime Minister)

• 800 points. The British Parliament consist of two Houses. What are they? ( The House of Lords and the House of Commons)

• 100 points. When do the English celebrate Halloween? ( on the 31-st of October)

• 300 points. When do the Americans celebrate Independence Day? (on the 14-th of June) (an auction question)

• 500 points. When is Boxing Day? ( on the 26-th of December)     

• 600 points. In which month is Thanksgiving Day?( in November)

• 800 points. When do the Americans celebrate  Flag Day? (on the 4-th of July)    (a cat in a sack)

Literature:

• 100 points. Who is the author of characters of Doctor Watson and Sherlock Holmes? (Arthur Conan Doyle)

• 300 points. Who wrote the book “The adventures of Alice in Wonderland”? ( L. Carrol) (an auction question)

• 500 points. He wrote 154 sonnets, tragedies, comedies and historical dramas? (W. Shakespeare)

• 600 points. The main hero of R. Kipling”s  “The Jungle Book” is …(a cat in a sack) ( Mongly)

• 800 points. What book did Herbert Wells choose to send to Leo Tolstoy? (an auction question)( the War of the Worlds)

Sport :

• 100 points: Home of football is …  ( England)

• 300 points: The game particularly associated with England is …     ( cricket) (a cat in a sack)

• 500 points. Another word for football is … (a cat in a sack), (soccer)

• 600 points. The football without rules is …( rugby)

• 800 points. What is PT lesson ? (an auction question) (physical training)

• 300 points: The President who fought for the rights of Black people… (A.Linkoln)

• 500 points: The Statue of Liberty was presented to the USA by the people of…(a cat in a sack) (France)

• 600 points: The largest state of America is …  (Alaska)

• 800 points: Name five Great lakes (an auction question) (lakes Michigan, Huron, Ontario, Erie, Superior)

• 100 points: What cities was W. Shakespeare born? (

• 300 points: What city is famous for its oldest University in the UK? (a cat in a sack)( Cambridge)

• 500 points: The capital of Australia is… ( Canberra)

Famous people:

• 100 points: He was the first President of the USA. ( George Washington)

• 300 points: He invented the first telephone in 1876 and became the citizen of the USA in 1882.( A.G. Bell)

• 500 points: He was a short story writer and the greatest American humorist. (a cat in a sack) ( Mark Twain)

• 600 points: He lived in Alaska for some years and wrote 152 stories about North. (an auction question) ( Jack London)

• 800 points: What famous doctor and writer wrongly believed that drugs stimulated the brain activity.  (Sir. Arthur Conan Doyle)   

Game 3.

• 500 points: This music is made on computers and performed mainly by deejays instead of old fashioned bands. (techno)

Grammar .

• 500 points: Plural form of the word foot. (feet)

Three games have come to the end. Now it is a final.

Между  играми можно сделать перерыв и организовать игру со зрителями на 5-10 минут. За правильные ответы зрители получают жетоны. Победителем выходит тот кто правильно ответил на большее количество вопросов.

По  завершению игры победители получают призы.
