План страноведческой викторины по английскому языку

(для 6класса).

Тема:Wonderful Great Britain.

Цель урока: контроль усвоения ранее изученных и приобретение новых страноведческих знаний, развитие умения монологического высказывания.

Воспитательная задача: воспитание толерантного отношения к другим, умения работать в команде, слушать друг друга.

Сопутствующие задачи: совершенствование навыка аудирования, говорения, лексического навыка.

Речевойматериал:totake part, thistle, shamrock, royal dynasty, purpose, Edinburgh, Сardiff, Oxford, Liverpool, The Thames, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, double-decker,The British Museum, Stonehenge, Loch Ness, William Shakespeare, The Beatles, Christopher Wren, Oliver Cromwell, Salisbury Plain, The Sherlock Holmes Museum,the Civil War.

Оснащение:доска, плакат «Questioncategories», карточки с названиями достопримечательностей, символов, городов и именами известных людей.

Мероприятие проводится в виде викторины для трех команд учащихся 6 класса, которые формируются на уроке. В группах по 9 человек.

Ход урока.

1.Вступительное слово учителя

T: Good afternoon students. I`m very glad to see you. Welcome to our competition. Dear friends, the topic of our quiz today is Great Britain. Do you know a lot about Great Britain? Today we`ll choose some pupils who knows England better than others. Are you ready to start? Great.

2.Подготовкакмероприятию

T: First I need you to form 3teams. Take a shit of paper from the bag and join your group according to your number. And now, when the teams are formed. Then I want you to choose your leaders. So, we have Sasha, Boris and Ivan. Now, listen to the rules. You must be quiet. Is it clear? Great! First you are going to discuss these words in your groups. If something is unknown for you I explain it. You have 3 minutes and 26 words. Start….Finish. It`s time for answering. The leader of the first group will choose the category (British symbols, History, London, British sights, Famous people and British cities) and a question (100,200,300,400,500) . The group will hear their question and they will have 50seconds to discuss in the group(you can choose the words on the blackboard).When time is up the leader name a person who answer the question. If the answer is correct the group get 100 or200or300or400or500 points. So, group 1 begin, please.

4. London 100points What river does London stand on? 200points What is the name of the famous London square? 300points What is the name of London home of the Queen? 400points What museum is situated in 221B, Baker Street, London? 500points What is the name of a famous London bus for tourists?

5. British Sights 100points What is the full name of the country we talk about? 200points In what museum is there the largest library in Great Britain? 300points What is the name of the huge circle of stones on Salisbury Plain? 400points What is the most famous lake in Scotland? 500points What links England and France under the sea?

6. Famous People 100points What is the name of the British Queen today? 200points What is the name of the great English writer? 300points What is the most popular British group? 400points What is the name of the great English architect? 500points Who was the leader of the Parliament army in the Civil War in 1642-1651?

4)Финал.

So let`s see your points. Group1….points, Group2…points, Group3…points. Unfortunately Group_ And now we are going to start the final part for Group1 and Group2. Please leaders, choose a person who is going to take part in the final task. Areyouready?Ok. Participants come here and listen to the rules. You will hear three questions and your task is answer the first. When you are ready to answer raise your hand please. For every right answer you will have 1000points. Be very attentive! We start.

1)Вопрос:On this holiday children go to their neighbours and say "Trick or treat". The neighbours give them apples, oranges and sweets.

2)Вопрос: This monument has a column and the statue of a famous admiral, and it stands in the centre of Trafalgar Square in London.

3)Вопрос:The air is bad there because there are many factories. It is the second largest city and the industrial centre of England.

5) Подведение итогов, награждение победителей.
