План открытого урока в 10 классе «Famous American Writers»
Цели урока:
Обучающая: развивать навыки аудирования, чтения, монологической и диалогической речи, письма.
Воспитательная: воспитывать толерантность к иноязычной культуре, милосердие к людям.
Развивающая: развивать способности к межкультурному взаимодействию.
Оборудование: компьютер, мультимедийный проектор, раздаточный материал.
Ход урока
I. Начало урока. Приветствие. Постановка цели.
Teacher: Good afternoon! I am glad to see you. I hope everybody is fine. Today at the lesson we shall speak about famous American writers – Jack London and Mark Twain, we shall get acquainted with their biographies,books,heroes.
II.Речевая подготовка.
Teacher: Why speak about them? Look at the blackboard and answer. (Учащиеся отвечают по схеме)

to get acquainted with their career/books to learn about the childhood
III.Фонетическая зарядка. (На экране мультимедийного проектора портреты писателей и слова).

Teacher: One of you will retell us about Jack London. Listen attentively and you will do some exercises.
Pupil 1: Jack London was born in 1876 in San Francisco, California. His family was very poor, so Jack had to leave school to make money. In 1897, he went to Alaska to find gold. Instead, he found ideas for his stories there. He is best known for his book, The Call of the Wild, the story of the adventures of a dog in the frozen north. Jack London became rich and famous before the age of 30.
Teacher: Who will retell us about Mark Twain?
Pupil 2: Mark Twain was born in Missouri in 1835. His real name was Samuel Clemens. He is known by his professional name, Mark Twain. He never finished elementary school. He got his education mainly from his observations of people. In 1871 he wrote his two masterpieces, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

VI.Диалогическое высказывание.
Teacher: I wish I met Mark Twain and listened to his stories. You know he is a great writer. Let's meet with his heroes.(Сценка между Томом Сойером и тетей Полли)
Aunt Polly: Tom! (No answer.) Tom! (No answer again.)Where can that boy be? Tom! If I catch you, Tom, I'll … (She looked under the bed. But...no Tom...) Tom! (Then she turned quickly, saw Tom and caught him by the arm.) What? In the cupboard again?
Tom: No, Aunt Polly.
Aunt Polly: No? Look at your mouth. Look at your hands. What is that on them?
Tom:I don't know, Aunt.
Aunt Polly: But I know. It's jam. I've told you so many times: don't touch that jam in the cupboard. Give me that stick.(The stick was ready to fall on Tom's back.)
Tom:Look behind you, Aunt! (Aunt Polly turned quickly and looked down. Tom ran into the garden and jumped over the fence.)
Aunt Polly: What a boy! Why can't I learn? He often do that. But I can't beat him. He is my sister's boy.

Teacher: Have you enjoyed the playing? Did you like Tom?Are there many Toms around us? Yes, there are. There are a lot of boys and girls who have neither mother nor father. And they are looking forward to New Year's presents. What would you give to such children if you were Santa Claus?
Pupil 1: If I were Santa Claus, I should give them a lot of sweets.
Pupil 2: If I were Santa Claus, I should return them their parents.
Pupil 3: If I were Santa Claus, I should give them interesting books. Etc.
Teacher: What would you do if you were a magician?
Pupil 4: If I were a magician, I should give happiness to people.
Pupil 5: If I were a magician, I should give people health.
Pupil 6: If I were a magician, I should establish peace in the world. Etc.
VIII. Релаксация.
Teacher: Now I want to read you the translation from the book the Adventures of Tom Sawyer .(Дети слушают отрывок- разговор между Томом и тетей Полли.)The translation is nice, isn't it?
Children, many European countries will celebrate Merry Christmas soon. Let's sing our Christmas song Jingle Bells.
IX. Письмо.(Заполнение открытки.)
Teacher: You have many friends. How would you like to congratulate your friends on Merry Christmas and Happy New Year? (Дети получают открытки и заполняют их.)
X.Итоги урока.
Teacher: Let's summarize our work. What have we done during the lesson today?..Well, we have known about Jack London and Mark Twain, got acquainted with their books,heroes,done some exercises,written postcards. You have worked well. Your marks are ...Your homework is to retell about one of famous American writers.
