Тип урока: урок формирования первоначальных языковых, речевых навыков, овладения речевыми умениями

Форма урока: урок-путешествие

Цель:формирование знаний, умений, навыков учащихся по теме «Уэльс» через использование методических приемов технологии развития критического мышления.

Задачи урока:

Образовательные:

совершенствовать лексические навыки;

совершенствовать грамматические навыки через построение предложений

учить понимать текст, построенный на знакомом языковом материале на слух;

читать про себя и полностью понимать текст, построенный на знакомом языковом материале;

Развивающие:

развивать умение понимать англоязычную речь и реагировать на нее,

развивать умения учащихся анализировать по данной теме урока, выделять главное, сравнивать, систематизировать;

развивать коммуникативную компетенцию учащихся (речевую, языковую, социокультурную).

Воспитательные:

воспитывать диалоговую культуру и толерантное отношение друг к другу.

Предполагаемые результаты:

Предметные результаты:обогащение активного словарного запаса по темам «Великобритания», «Уэльс», расширение объёма используемых в речи грамматических средств для рассказа о стране изучаемого языка.

положительное отношение к учению, к познавательной деятельности; желание приобретать новые знания;

But today we have an unusual lesson: we are going to be travel agents. The agency has given us a very responsible task to collect the information about the capital, symbols, customs and traditions of this beautiful country. As a result we should do the booklet about Wales and present it.

Be attentive because doing different tasks you’ll have to fill in thiscluster which will help you to make a nice booklet. By the way, I see you know the capital of Wales so we can fill the first part of our cluster. (Заполнениеполя«столица»).

The Britons wore the leek on their hats to distinguish them and their friends from the enemies. Today the Welsh eat leek on St David's Day. The Welsh for leek (the original national emblem) is Cenhinen, while the Welsh for daffodil is Cenhinen Pedr. Over the years they became confused until the daffodil was adopted as a second emblem of Wales.

Wales celebrates its national day on the 1^st of March, in honor of St. David, the patron saint of Wales. On this day some children wear the national costume with tall black hats and national dresses.

Cardiff is the largest city in Wales and the ninth largest city in the UK. The city is the country's main commercial centre, the base for most national cultural and sporting events. Swansea is Wales' second largest city. Swansea is a key centre of the copper industry. Newport has been a port since medieval times, when a castle was built by the Normans it is the third largest city in Wales.

Wales also has very beautiful nature. This is the country of mountains. The highest is Snowdon. It is situated in the Snowdonia National Park. There are many waterfalls in Wales too. But sometimes it’s very difficult to reach them. The other wonder of nature is St. Winifred’s Well. This Well is formed of natural springs and the water in it is warm. They say that the water in the Well has healing powers.

The History of Welsh Flag

The national flag - The Red (1) - became official in 1959, but the dragon itself has been associated with (2) for centuries. Some people say it’s the (3) national flag still in use, and that it was used by King Arthur and other ancient Celtic leaders.It is the mark of (4) and victory. When King Henry VII was crowned as the King of England in 1485, it is said that he ordered the Red Dragon become part of the official flag of Wales. And the Welsh are very (5) of their Dragon.
