Цель урока:обобщающее повторение изученной тематической лексики в речи учащихся в процессе развития иноязычной коммуникативной компетенции.

Задачи.

Образовательная:

совершенствовать навыки устной речи, аудирования по теме;

развивать навыки чтения;

активизировать учащихся в говорении по теме;

проконтролировать усвоение грамматического материала.

Развивающая:

развивать мышление, память, воображение;

развивать интеллектуальную сферу личности учащихся;

расширять кругозор и общую культуру учащихся.

Воспитательная:

воспитывать чувство уважения к англоязычной культуре.

Оснащение урока: компьютер, мультимедийный проектор, аудиозаписи; раздаточный материал (карточки с заданиями).

Ход урока.

Орг.момент, приветствие, сообщение целей урока.

Teacher: Hello, friends! It’s great to see you again at our English lesson today. How are you? Are you all right? I hope everybody is OK. Do you like the weather today? What is the weather like today? Do you like it when it’s frosty? Today we’ll do a lot of work at our lesson not. We’ll talk about Great Britain and as for grammar we’ll practice how to use articles with proper names.

Why are the words Edinburgh, London, Cardiff, Belfast used without articles?

Teacher: - Don’t forget that the names of cities, towns and countries are used without articles, but the nationality words like the Welsh, the English are used with the article. Also we use definite article with the names of oceans, seas, rivers. Don’t forget not to use the article with the language people speak.

Teacher: - The teenage magazine “Current” asked its readers to give their opinions of Britain. Here are some of the replies. Before listening look at the blackboard and read some unknown words after me.

Listen to the replies of people from different countries. Tick (*) which of the following things they mentioned (упоминали):

Do they mention any of the things you mentioned? What things are alike?

- Now listen for the second time and say what the people feel about the things they mentioned in their replies. Match the speakers and their ideas.

Teacher:Look at this, please! What is it?

Teacher:Yes. The climate in England is mild and warm. And the weather is very changeable. Every day everybody in England takes its own umbrella and go out. - Hello, Dick, lovely day, isn't it?

- Absolutely wonderful, nice and warm. What's the weather forecast for tomorrow? Do you know?

II. A: It’s a fine day today, isn’t it?

B: Yes, it’s nice and bright this morning.

A: Yes, much better than yesterday. It’s good to see the sun again.

B: Let’s hope it will keep fine for the weekend.

III. - It’s a nice day today, isn’t it?

- It certainly is. Not a cloud in the sky, but 30 degrees above zero is too hot.

- Oh, yes. It’s hot and humid. Do you like it when it’s hot?

- Not very much. But it’s a wonderful day to go to the river.

- It sure is.

IV. – What is the weather like today?

It’s cold outside. It’s bitter cold.

Is it going to snow?

I hope so. The weather will be milder then. I like it when it snows.

Me too. Everything looks so wonderful.

A nice day to walk in the forest.

V. – How is the weather today? Is it going to rain?

- I hope not, though it looks like rain. There are many dark clouds in the sky and a cold wind is blowing.

Let’s hope for the best. I hate rainy weather.

Some lessons ago I asked you to work at your projects about the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Your task was to find out some interesting information about the UK. What country should we start with? I think we’ll start with England, it’s the heart of England.

Teacher: - You know that different languages are spoken in the United Kingdom. What are they?

Will you read the factfile to get some new information about the languages spoken in the country?
