At Joe’s Café

        Hello! My name is Lucy. Last Sunday I had lunch at Joe’s Café. It’s near the library in the city center. I went with my best friend, Daisy.

        First, we got some drinks because we were very thirsty. We wanted some juice but there wasn’t any. I had some lemonade and Daisy had a glass of water. Then we asked for some food. I had some great sausages and chips. Sausages are my favourite food. Daisy didn’t want any sausages. She had a very big pizza. She didn’t like it much, but she liked the ice cream we had later. It was very nice!

        I think Joe’s Café is a nice place to eat. The food is nice and the people are very friendly! Also, it isn’t expensive. I’d like to go there again.

Lucy and Daisy went to Joe’s Café on Sunday.   _______

Read the text and answer the questions

Snowman

It was the first day of the winter holiday. It was a beautiful day. The trees were white with snow. Peter and his friends went for a walk to the yard. There was a lot of snow. Peter said, ‘Let’s make a snowman, Tom!’ “Oh! That’s a good idea,” Tom said.

They made three big snowballs. The first snowball was very big. The second ball was smaller than the first one. The third was the smallest. The smallest snowball was the “head”. Then they took three sticks: one for a “mouth” and two small sticks for “eyes”.

Tom had an idea. “We can make the nose out of a big carrot”. They ran home, took a big carrot and an old pot. The boys put the pot on the snowman’s head and made the “nose” out of the carrot. The snowman was ready. How funny it was! The friends were happy. They had a lot of fun.
