Text “Our school” – appendix 1
Our school is large. It is located in the centre of the city. If you come to our school you will see a wide school-yard around it and a sports ground behind the school. We usually have Physical Training lessons there when the weather is fine.
Our school has dot four floors. There are three classrooms for the pupils of primary school on the ground floor. There is a cloak-room and a dining-room. There we also have two English classrooms, the Head Master’s room and two technology classrooms.
When you enter and go to the along the corridor you will see the dining-room, where teachers and pupils have their dinner.
We also have a few classrooms for the pupils of the primary school on the first floor. There we have Gymnasium. The pupils like to go there because many of them like Physical Training lessons.
The classrooms four secondary forms and computer rooms for all pupils are on the second and the third floors. There we have two Kazakh classrooms, Russian, Physics, Geography and other classrooms. Every pupil of our school learns English. Because at the present time it is the most widespread language in the world. At the English lessons we learn new words, grammar, poems, read texts, ask and answer questions. Most of all we like to speak English.
We also have a library on the second floor. In the library you can find many interesting books. Our pupils often go there when they want to find something interesting for their home assignment or our class activity. If you look around the library hall you will see many portraits of famous English, Kazakh, and Russian writers on the walls.
Harrow school – Appendix 2
Harrow school is an English independent school for boys situated in the town of harrow, in north-west London. Harrow has educated boys since 1243 but was officially founded by John Lyon under a Royal Charter of Elizabeth I in 1572.
The school as enrollment of approximately 800 boys spread across twelve boarding houses, all of whom board full time.
Boys at Harrow have two uniforms.
Everyday dress, worn to most lessons, consists of a white shirt, black silk tie, grey trousers, black shoes, blue jumper, a dark blue woolen uniform jacket, the school blue and white scarf on cold days and, notably, a boater style straw hat with a dark blue band.
An alternative uniform, Sunday dress, worn every Sunday and for public engagements, consists of a morning suit; a black tailcoat, pinstriped trousers, a black waistcoat, black tie, braces and a white shirt.
Harrow School has 24 tennis court which include acrylic, hard and synthetic lawn which belong to Harrow Lawn Tennis Club.
Harrow is not built on a campus: it is fully integrated into surrounding area; there are private houses and shops on the hill, and the main road through the hill is a normal public highway and indeed a bus route.
The school is made up of some 400 acres of playing fields, tennis courts, golf course, woodland and gardens.
