Good afternoon. My name is Anna Repina. I'm from the 10th form at Lyceum №1. Today I will tell you about influence and influencers.

An influencer is someone who has the power to аffect others' decisions and mind because of their authority, knowledge, position, or relationship with their audience. How did it start? Master in ceramics Josiah Wedgwood gave the English royal family a tea set made in his factory as a gift. In the eyes of society, Wedgwood's products instantly acquired additional luxury and prestige, as they became associated with the monarchy.

Influencers can be divided into groups: celebrities, streamers, prankers, creators, TV presenters and bloggers. Bloggers are Internet users who maintain their own channel, website or page. People have a certain opinion and carry it to the mass. For their subscribers, they're opinion leaders in a certain area.

For example, athletes, such as the football player Lionel Messi or figure skater Anna Shcherbakova. Through hard training, they reach heights. And then share their experience, talk abоut ups and downs, and we can see their results ourselves. Or take successful entrepreneur Elon Musk. The great man who conquered not only our planet, but also space. His best quotes are: "If you get up in the morning and think the future is going to be better, it is a bright day. Otherwise, it's not." or "I think it is possible for ordinary people to choose to be extraordinary." Such people inspire and motivate to action.

Social networks are the main tool of influence for any influencer. According to statistics from the agency We Are Social, 58% of the total population of the Earth use social networks. The most popular are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tik Tok.
How do modern bloggers influence a younger generation? There are both positive and negative effects. They influence many things: fashion, thinking, attitude towards someone and something, form public opinion. Now, more and more movements are moving forward against racism and for body positivity. Because of this people start accepting themselves and others for who they are and that is extremely good.

What about influence on fashion? Look, an example. I bought these glasses a long time ago because they were in trend. And now you can see many people with the same ones. They are also comfortable and fit the face, I think. Thanks for good advice!

Today, the most discussed bloggers-tiktokers in Russia are Valya Karnaval, Anya Pokrov and Vlad A4. Their main audience are children, so I conducted a survey among the children aged from 7 to 13 years old. I asked: "Why do you watch them?" The majority answered that they are funny, cute, and they have bright hairstyles. However, their blogs are for entertainment, don't develop logic, thinking, which is very important. What else are they interested in on the Internet? As the survey showed, these are music, fashionable clothes, DIY (do it yourself), sports and funny videos.

But not all the data are reliable because everyone can become a blogger, and not all people disseminate truthful information, something is deliberately false. Some blogs can even be dangerous, such as "24 hours in an abandoned house". The most important thing here is to learn how to filter information: to separate what is important, and what is not worth listening to.

Anyway, blogging is a new culture, a new movement. Do you want to be an influencer?
