Деловая игра с применением кейс технологий

Цель игры: повышение мотивации изучения английского языка путем применения на практике изученного материала в ситуации, приближенной к реальной.

Задачи:

1. развитие познавательного потенциала личности;

2. повышение способности к обучению, овладению новыми системами знаний; 3. развитие творческих способностей школьников;

4. развитие умения аргументировать свою точку зрения.

Вид кейса – практический

Тип кейса - Исследовательский кейс (Case-study method)

Оборудование: проектор, экран, презентация PowerPoint, плакаты, стенгазеты, выполненные учениками.

Участники: группы учащихся 9-х, 10-х классов

ХОДИГРЫ:

T₁:Good morning, dear guests, and participants!

T₂:We are glad to welcome you at our school.

T₁:It is a lovely day today, isn’t it? The birds are singing, the sun is shining, it is warm, but we have to stay in this stuffy room.

T₂: I wish we had a chance to find ourselves somewhere outside in plains

T₁: For example, in Scotland. I was there this time a year ago and the trees were already in blossom. It was wonderful there.

T₂: Scotland is fantastic in any season and I think everybody would like to visit it.

T₁: As Queen Victory wrote in her journal:

... I feel a sort reverence in going over these scenes in this most beautiful country, which I am proud to call my own, where there was such devoted loyalty to the family of my ancestors – for Stuart blood is in my veins …

T₂: Everybody knows about Scotch, which is never drunk by Scots, Scottish terrier - a dog with a heavy-set body, short legs and a dark, wiry coat.

T₁: Scotch thistle - the national emblem, Scotch verdict - «not proven», a peculiarity of Scotland’s legal system.

T₂: What else is the country famous for?

T₁: Oh, you know a lot, as if you have already been there.

T₂: But if you have ever been to the Military Tattoo, you will never forget it, because from its early days, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo has been an international annual celebration of music and entertainment. A spine-tingling presentation includes pipers, drummers, singers and dancers.

T₁:The first Tattoo took place in 1950 and it has always been staged at Edinburgh Castle.

T₂:The word ‘tattoo’ comes from the closing-time cry in the inns in the Low Countries during the 17th and 18th centuries - ‘Doe den tap toe’ (‘Turn off the taps’).

T₁: Each year’s Tattoo is very much a 'global gathering': performers from over 46 countries have taken part in the Tattoo, and around 30 per cent of the 220,000 audience each year are from overseas.

T₂:The Tattoo is set up and run for charitable purposes. Over the years, it has gifted about 8 million to service and civilian organizations.

T: Let us watch a short piece of the performance to get an idea what Military Tattoo is like.

T₁: It is no secret that each and every Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is different from the last.

T₂: The Tattoo embraces different themes; nature, creativity and Scotland's homecoming are just some of the concepts explored in recent times.

T₁:This year on 7^th August the world is coming together for the 66^th Tattoo.

T₂:2015 will see the world's most spectacular military Tattoo host a parade of talent from four continents as the showpiece event celebrates 'East Meets West'.

T₁: I wish I could see it on my own, but unfortunately, it is impossible because of high price.

T₂: But some of our students will have a chance to make a trip there, and we do hope they will use it.

T₁: A month ago, there was an advertisement in the YOUTH MAGAZINE, inviting to participate in the contest.

T₂: Tatyana Ivanovna and I are very happy to inform you that three groups of students from classes 9B and 10A are lucky enough to get into the final and one of them can win the trip to Scotland and this honour.

T₁: So that is why we are here today. Each group had to make a research, to plan their visit, count the expenses and make a project on their visit.

T₂: You had to decide whether to stay in a luxurious hotel or in a youth hostel, whether to travel by the British Airways or a more budget variant, where and what to eat and so on...

T₁: The staff of the magazine have to choose the group which will be able to make the best video and photo report, and prove they won’t waste the given money and it will be enough...

T₂: Now it is time to introduce the people the trip depends on.

T₁: The chief editor:

T₂: They are to decide who is worth visiting this show.

T₁: We surely have sponsors who are responsible for the financial side of the contest. They are: the National Bank of Scotland, the Youth Magazine...

T₂: Let us start with the youngest participants. The ninth form students are ready to present their project.

T₂:Have you ever booked and bought your tickets on-line?

T₁: Was it easy to choose the hotel? Why did book it?

T₂: Thanks for your presentation.

T₁: We can see that the groups have worked a lot. It is up to the jury to make a difficult choice, and that is why we ask them to vote. We understand that they need a few minutes to think everything over. While they are discussing, let us enjoy the performance of the Military Tattoo.

T₂: Our congratulations, dear winners, but don’t relax. Remember, that now you have you to apply for the British visa. Do not be afraid, but it is a rather long and tiring process and is not cheap at all.

T₁: We wish you good luck and we are waiting for your report. We hope you will use all your knowledge, intelligence, creativity and will not let us down.

T₂: Our game is over, we will be glad to see you again in our school. Our special thanks to the jury, our guests and, of course, our participants.
