Словаmuch,little, а также many,few могут быть количественными местоимениями и стоять перед существительными в качестве определения. Much,little употребляются с неисчисляемыми существительными; many,few – с существительными во множественном числе.

Слова much,little могут быть наречиями (меры и степени). В этом случае они ставятся после глагола, который определяют.

We have lectures and tutorials every day. I come to the University at about nine and go to the class-room. I take my books and note-books out of my bag and put them on the desk. The desk I usually sit at is at the window, in front of the instructor’s table. Behind the table there is a blackboard. At 9 o’clock the instructor comes into the room, greets us and the class begins. Lectures are delivered in the lecture room. After classes usually go to the students’ canteen for lunch and then to the library where I stay till late in the evening. I come home from the University, do my homework and have a short rest.
