I would like to tell you about my best friend. It is not a very interesting story, but I like it very much, because my best friend is very important for me.
My best friend’s name is Jenny. I met her on the first of September when we went to school for the first time. It was our first grade. The day was sunny and warm, all pupils were beautifully dressed and everyone had flowers for their teachers. We came into the class and sat down. Jenny sat with me.
She was a nice girl with blond hair and big blue eyes. She was the most beautiful and the cleverest girl in the class. She answered all teacher’s questions. She was unselfish and caring. She was friendly with all classmates, always cheerful and very kind. And I hated her. I hated her so much! Once I broke my pencil, I didn’t have a sharpener so I couldn’t finish the exercise. I was so angry and sad! She didn’t say a word, just took my pencil and sharpened it. She smiled at me and gave me the pencil back. I took the pencil and started writing again. I didn’t even thank her.
When I was going home that afternoon I saw her crying. I couldn’t go away. I asked what was wrong. She said: “I want you to be my friend, I want you to like me, but you hate me. Why do you hate me?” I didn’t know what to answer. I didn’t know why I hated her.
That day became the first day of our new life. The first day of our friendship.
