Philological thought as a driving factor in the spiritual development of modern civilization

This article examines the value of philology as a driving factor in the spiritual development of modern civilization. In the context of globalization, rapprochement of countries and peoples, knowledge of several languages ​​becomes necessary. Multilingualism as the basis of a multicultural personality implies not only knowledge of languages, but also compulsory possession of the culture of speech and its components. The author explores the difficulties of communication of modern schoolchildren and considers ways to eliminate communicative illiteracy.

The spiritual life of society is a broad concept that includes many-sided processes, phenomena, everything, which is connected with the spiritual sphere of human activity. The basis of the spiritual life is the spiritual world of man - his values, worldview orientations. At the same time, the spiritual world of one person is impossible outside the spiritual life of society. Therefore, the spiritual life is always a dialectical unity of the individual and the social, which functions as an individual social.Society is an education in which human nature is combined with a spiritual structure that is embodied, develops and functions in the language, filling it with internal content, the ability to spiritualize and experience the world. The spiritual structure of society is not identified with the word "language." But the uniqueness of language as a system is that language develops in the spiritual realm. Language is not a simple accumulation of information about the world and man, but the formation of an intellectual culture, a certain pattern of behavior in relation to the surrounding reality.

Along with the natural sciences and mathematics, creating an objective, quantitatively expressed picture of the world, philological sciences are developing in parallel, as our modern world is a world of communication, continuous dialogue, and constant interpretations.

A feature of modern society is the convergence of countries and peoples, the strengthening of their interaction, multiculturalism, the globalization of the world as a whole. Speaking of multiculturalism as the ability to conduct dialogue and understanding of a person of another culture, as well as the possibility of enriching their culture, it can be considered that multiculturalism is one of the effective means of countering the negative effects of globalization.“Knowledge of three languages ​​is our future. The world is becoming increasingly globalized, and it is important for future generations to be able to navigate in a multilingual environment, ”stressed Nursultan Nazarbayev. [5]

It is necessary to motivate students to learn languages ​​in order to realize their plans in adult life. N. Nazarbayev, in his Address to the Youth, said: “The world has become tougher. It has no place for extensive reflections on who will help you, who will give you what. You know, there is old as the world, wisdom: "Good luck comes to the strongest." Only those who do not complain and do not expect alms from anyone today are successful. We must not forget that in order to become true professionals in your field, you must meet the requirements of the time. ” [6]

In order to draw attention to the study of languages, a survey was conducted of students in grades 6-11 of secondary school No. 3 of the city of Aktobe, “The value of multilingualism in the modern world”. Answers were received, in which 100% of the students answered that knowledge of foreign languages ​​gives a person tremendous advantages. The positive aspects of multilingualism were identified:

feeling of comfort when solving organizational issues;

sometimes knowledge of languages ​​is not only a matter of comfort, but also of security;

feeling of confidence in situations that require filling in documentation, receiving information;

knowledge of languages ​​gives freedom: the ability to correctly express your thoughts and convey to others your feelings, emotions, attitude to a particular situation, as well as understand the opinions of interlocutors;

knowledge of languages ​​makes life interesting, diverse and bright;

contributes to a wider choice of place of study;

promotes career growth, knowledge of a foreign language is part of the image of a successful person, is one of the keys to success in life, competitiveness in the labor market .;

knowledge of languages ​​greatly expands life perspectives and makes it possible to fulfill dreams;

promotes tolerance;

knowledge of languages ​​is the luxury of human communication.

knowledge of languages ​​contributes to the intellectual development of a person, his spiritual world, when a person has the opportunity to read literature in the original, watch movies, communicate with a large audience, get acquainted with the national characteristics of culture and traditions of the peoples of other countries.

According to the Russian thinker V. S. Bibler, the 20th century spawned an inconceivable diversity of cultures, the most bizarre variants of their synthesis, indicating the urgent need for their dialogue:

“Typologically different“ cultures ”(integral crystals of works of art, religion, morality ...) are drawn into one time“ space ”, strangely and painfully mating with each other ... that is, they exclude and presuppose each other”. [7, 32] It is therefore extremely important that the chaotic interaction of different cultures be transformed into a meaningful and mutually beneficial dialogue.
