I have a pet. It’s a dog. I called my dog Benny.Benny is three years old.We got Benny when he was a puppy.
My mother bought him for me. Benny is a Labrador. Labradors are intelligent,caring dogs who were first introduced to Europe from the Labrador region of Canada more than one hundred years ago. They are actually retriever gun-dogs (охотничьи собаки-ретриверы) and they can be colored cream, chocolate brown or black. Benny is cream. He has grown very quickly since he was a puppy.Now he weighs about 30kg and its height is about 50cm. Benny wears a red collararound his neck with his name written on it and an attached bell.

My dog likes to go for a walk and it is my jobeven if the weatheris bad to do it. I usually walk with Benny in the morning before school and later in the afternoon or in the evening. Benny sleeps on a big round carpet.He is the member of our family.

He is too big to sit on my laps but he usually lies on the mat in front of the sofa. Our dog has hisfavourite television programs and music. He often travelswith us in the car where he has his own exclusive ‘back space’. Two times a week I take Benny to our local park where he can play a lot with his dog friends. He is fond of freedom.

Mydog is the best one and he never causes any trouble because he is well trained and obedient. Like all dogs, Benny likes treats.Tasty things like a meat bone,biscuits or special stuff. I can buy everything at the pet shop. I am very proud of Benny and I like to show him my friends and relatives. I often putpictures of him on my social media webpages and one special picture of him is displayed as a screensaver* ([ˈskriːnzeɪvər\ заставка,аватарка]) on my smartphone.
Once a year, I show him at the regional annual Dog Show which is shown on the local television.As I have mentioned before, Benny isourlocal celebrity. Many people in our city know him. Benny is my real friend. He brings me and our family a lot of fun,joy and happiness. Life without our favorite dog would be boring.

I would like to talk about animals, they play a big part in people’s lives, many of us cannot imagine our lives without pets.

People keep pets for various reasons, I should say. For some people it’s a way to avoid loneliness, for others it’s a kind of entertainment. Some people just love animals very much and need an animal to share their feelings.

The most popular pets in big cities are cats and little dogs, because it’s convenient to keep them in a flat.

I believe that having a pet is a big responsibility, since pets are living creatures, and you should take care of them and know what they need, you should make sure they are healthy.

In some cities and towns are zoos. Are you for or against them?

To my mind, people build zoos in cities and in towns because many of us who live in cities haven’t ever seen wild animals live, so it’s very exciting for people to have an opportunity to watch them. Some people keep wild animals as pets at home but I think it’s cruel to keep a wild animal as a pet, because they cannot adapt to our environment due to their wild habits. Moreover, it’s dangerous for the owner, because wild animals can kill!

To conclude, I’d like to say that we should always remember that animals are living being, not toys, and we should treat them properly.
