Ice cream.

Russian children like ice cream a lot. They eat it in hot and cold weather, at home and outside. They buy it in shops and kiosks. They also go to ice cream cafes with their friends. Children like all flavours of ice cream: chocolate, vanilla and fruit – they’re all yummy! Ice cream is very popular in Russia and people have special ice cream festivals! They are great fun!

I My name is Vladislav. I have got many friends among

my classmates, but my best friend is Kirill.

He is thirteen. Kirill is very kind and friendly.

He is quite tall and wellbuilt, and he has got dark, wavy hair and brown eyes. Kirill is very musical. He can play the piano. He plays the piano very well. His favourite Russian composer is Sviridov. He composes his own songs. He has got a lot of records. We like classical music and we go to concerts at the weekends. Kirill's favourite subject at school is Computing. He is very good at this subject. He has got a computer at home. His favourite computer programs are educational ones. He likes to play computer games too. Sometimes he plays computer games with me. He wins most of the time. He paints and draws very well. I like painting too. We go to art exhibitions as often as possible.Kirill is very reliable.

I can rely on him in any difficult situation. We respect each other, care about each other, remain true and honest, always keep secrets

and forgive each other. The thing I like best about my friend is that he

really cares for me. When I'm sick he comes to see me, brings me my favourite fruits: apples, pears and lemons, helps me with my homework. We don't often go out in the evening during the week, because we have too much homework.

As a rule we meet at the weekends.We often go to the park or to the cinema. In summer we often go cycling. We play tennis and go swimming. We like photography. Sometimes we play chess. Kirill plays chess very well. We have a good time together.

My mum always says: «A friend you choose helps you win or lose». With Kirill I always win.
