Проект «A 3-day tour in Yakutsk»

We made a tour programm of visiting Yakutsk in three days.

1 ученик: Yakutsk is the capital city of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia). It is situated on the Lena River. It was founded in 1632 by Pyotr Beketov, a Russian Cossack. The population of 368 294 people. The city was built on permafrost, which is never melts. In winter the temperature might fall below -50C. Local time in Yakutsk is 6 hours ahead of Moscow time.

2 ученик: Transportation

You can get to Yakutsk by plane. The flight to Yakutsk from Moscow will take 7 hours. You'll arrive to international airport «Yakutsk» named by Platon Oyunskiy. To get to the city from the airport to the city you can get by buses number 4 and 100. The fair is 40 roubles. Also you can call a taxi. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the city by taxi or by bus.

3 ученик: Accomodation

We would like to recommend you to stay in the popular hotels «Azimut», «Tygyn Darkhan Hotel» which are located in the center of Yakutsk. The hotels has a restaurants with European and Yakut cuisine, bar, indoor pool and spa center. Also there are many other hotels in the city.

Day 1

Museums

4 ученик: Mammoth Museum

Yakutsk is in an area with permafrost, so very special to visit this very interesting place. It shows the natural history of the region. There you can see ancient animals as mammoth, hairy rhino, horse.

5 ученик: I want to tell you about most interesting place of Yakutsk called «The old city». Here we can walk on the a pedestrian only streets. There are many attractions as Preobrazhenskaya Church, the founders monument, the WW1 monument with eternal flame and the monument to Pyotr Beketov.

Thera are a number of restaurants and shops as «Krujalo», here you can see many jewelry stores made by Yakut craftman.

6 ученик: Also in the «The old city» there is a «Makhtal» restaurant featuring Yakut cousine. It is designed in national style. This is a good place to have traditional Yakutian dishes served in a very traditional home style atmosphere.

7 ученик: After lunch I would like to recommend you to visit the Yaroslavski House Museum. Here you can find a lot of interesting information about Yakutia. The paleontology section present the remains of mamont and ancient horse.You could easily spend half a day here if you really pay attention to all the exhibits.

8 ученик: The best way to spend your time in the evening is visiting theaters. There are Opera and Ballet Theatre, Russian Drama Theatre and theSakha Platon Oyunskiy Academic Theatre. There are a lot of spectacular performances about life of yakut people. And also you can enjoy folk dances at the Dance theatre.

Day 2

Lena Pillars

9ученик:In the second day well recommend you to take a long day trip to the majestic Lena Pillars. It will take a couple of hours south of Yakutsk. Lena river. is one of the largest rivers in Russia. It begins from the Laptev Sea. The Lena Pillars are world-famous rock formations towering over the Lena river. considered as one of the world Unesco attractions. We'll go up of the pillars. If you visit the sacred place you will feel the harmony of human with nature. The place visitors find unique. You can see ancient drawings in the caves. It will be unforgottable trip.

Day 3

Kingdom of permafrost

10ученик: Also we can recommend you to visit the ethnographic complex «Chochur Muraan». Here you will meet with the Yakutian Laika and have a dog sledding tour on the lake. Then you can have delicious lunch in the restaurant. You can taste the national meals. The interior of the restaurant is very attractive, it's like a museum.

11 ученик:

In the afternoon you can visit an underground ice gallery "Kingdom of Permafrost". This unique ice sculpture exhibition is located inside the mountain. It is a tourist complex set inside the mountain where the throne-room of Chyskhaan — the Yakut Lord of Cold is located.

12 ученик: After that you can souvenir and jewelry shopping. There are a lot of yakut souvenir shops where you can find traditional musical instrument chomys, pictures and many other interesting things. The vessel Choroon is simbolysed the full of happyness life.

13 ученик: If you have time you can visit National Art Museum of The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). You can find it easily, as it is in the center of Yakutsk. Impressive museum collection of both local art and carefully selected pieces from world at large. Special attention to pieces representing the Sakha culture, very appropriate to this city.

14 ученик: So three days have already past you had unforgottable impressions about our native city. Our city is very hospitable and friendly to all the visitors. Welcome to Yakutsk.
