I.

(Tom appears on the stage with a cat (toy) in his hands. Fairies come and dance).

Fairy 1: Look, my sister, what a lovely place!

Fairy 2: Yes, this town is very nice. Everything is so beautiful here, everyone is so kind.

Fairy 1: But look at this poor boy with a cat. He is crying.

Fairy 2: Oh, I know him. He is Tom, the miller’s son.

Fairy 1: Why is he so sad?

Fairy 2: Let’s have a look!

Tom: I am so unhappy and poor. My father died. Peter, the eldest brother, got a house, Bob got a horse and I got only a cat.

(The cat mewed).

Tom: You can only mew. Go away. I want to sleep. Don`t bother me.

(He throws the cat).

Fairy 1: We must help him.

Fairy 2: Ok, let’s add some magic!

(Tom is sleeping. The Pussy-cat appears on the stage ).

The Pussy-cat: Mew… An hour in the morning is worth two in the evening. My dear master, you are very kind fellow. I want to make you rich and happy. Sleep my dear master, and I’ll think how to help you. I’ll catch some fish for you.

(The Pussy-cat is fishing).

The Pussy-cat: What is this?

The Golden Fish: I am Golden Fish. Please, let me go, and I’ll fulfil your wish.

The Pussy-cat: Well, I want to help my master, he is very poor.

The Golden Fish: So take this hat and these boots, go to the king`s palace. But first catch some fish for him.

(The Pussy-cat puts on the hat and the boots)

The Pussy-cat: Thank you. Good buy.

The Fox: Hello, Pussy-cat, my friend. What a nice hat! What wonderful boots!

The Hare: Where are you going?

The Pussy-cat: I am going to the king’s palace.

The Fox: What for? To visit the Queen again?

The Pussy-cat: No, not this time. It was long ago.

The Fox: The good old days.

The Pussy-cat, The Fox and the Hare:

The Pussy-cat: My friends, I must help my master.

The Hare : Good luck, Pussy-cat!

II.

(At the king`s palace the Queen, the King, Ladies and the Princess)

The Princess:

Everything has been different

All the day long

Lovely things have happened

Nothing has gone wrong

Nobody has scolded me,

Everyone has smiled

Isn`t it delicious

To be a king`s child.

The King: My dear, look here. The noble gentleman brought us fish.

The Queen: I haven`t eaten it for ages, my dear. Do you like fish?

The Princess: Oh. Yes, I do. You know I`m on a diet and it`s very useful to eat fish.

Lady 1: But how many fishes are there?

Lady 2: 1……5.

The Princess : No, it`s not enough. I want more. Where did you catch it?

The Pussy-cat: I can show you the place. It`s not far from here. But it`s my master who has caught the fish.

Lady 1: Is your master handsome?

Lady 2: Is he rich?

The Pussy-cat: Yes, he really is.

The Queen: Then let him catch some more fish for his Majesty.

The Pussy-cat: He will be glad to catch more. But he can`t. The thieves stole his clothes when he was swimming.

(Lady 1 is leaving)

The Princess: Oh, Mummy, Daddy. What shall we do? If we don`t help this young gentleman he will be cold and die. Let`s help him.

The King: I know what to do. I have to put off my clothes and give them to this noble gentleman. Take these trousers and this shirt.

(King puts off his clothes).

The Queen: Oh, no. Don`t do it. Bring the best clothes for this noble gentleman.

Lady 1 : Take these clothes and give them to your master.

Lady 2 : Run quickly and come back.

The King: The weather is so terrible! Poor man! How is he? Alone… in the river…

The Queen, the King, Ladies and the Princess:

(All are gone. The Pussy-cat and Tom appear).

The Pussy-cat: My master! Put on these clothes. Don`t say a word. Let`s go to the king`s palace.

(The Princess, the Queen and the King come)

The Princess: Dad, mum! They are going. Let`s come and meet them.

Tom: Your majesty, you are so kind. You have given me this beautiful clothes and I want to thank you.

The Pussy-cat: Yes, my master wants to invite you to his castle. This castle is in the wood. While you are driving I`ll run and prepare everything for the party.

III.

(The Pussy-cat runs away and sees a castle).

The Pussy-cat: Oh, it`s what I need. The castle is big enough. Let`s get in. Knock, knock.

The Giant: Who are you? What are doing here? You are quite a tasty thing. I`m as hungry as a hunter. Now I`ll cook you and eat. Ha, ha…..

The Pussy-cat: Yes, of course, you are right, I`m quite a tasty and a smart Pussy-cat. But let`s play first. People say that you can change yourself into any animal. Is that so?

The Giant: Yes, I can change myself into any animal.

The Pussy-cat: Can you change into a tiger?

The Giant: Of course, I can, Rr….

The Tiger: Song «Tiger»

The Pussy-cat: And now change into a mouse.

The Tiger: I can….

The Mouse:

Our tails are long
Our faces small,
We haven't any
Chins at all.
Our ears are pink,
And teeth are white,
We run about
The house at night.
We nibble things
we shouldn't touch
And no one seems
To like us much.
But don’t eat mice
couse we are nice

The Pussy-cat: Ok, I will play with you later.

(All are at the castle).

The Pussy-cat: Welcome! It`s my master`s palace. How do you like it?

The Queen: It`s great. I like it.

Tom: My lovely princess I want you to marry me.

The princess: Tom, you are very kind and noble. I`ll marry you.

The King: Be happy my children. I bless you
