Сказка на английском языке «Twelve months»

Twelve Months.

Once upon a time there lived a girl. Her name was Mary. She was kind, clever and beautiful. She had not got a mother and she had not got a father. She lived with her stepmother and her daughter.

Stepmother: Hey, Mary! I have spilt milk! Clean the floor.

Daughter: Be quick! You are so lazy! Listen, Mum, I want flowers!

Stepmother: Flowers?! It’s winter now!

Daughter: I don’t care! I want flowers!

Stepmother: Oh! My pretty child! It’s ok. Mary, go to the forest and bring us flowers!

Mary: But it’s January now!

Stepmother: Don’t speak, just do it!

A poor girl put on her coat, took a basket and went to the forest. She went, went and went. When it was dark she saw a fire. She went there to get warm. Mary saw twelve men around the fire. Some were old and some were young.

Mary: Excuse me, can I stand by the fire?

Month: Yes, you can… why are you in the forest? It is cold!

Month: It is dark!

Mary: For flowers!

Month: But it’s winter now!

Mary: I know, but my stepmother and her daughter said to bring flowers.

Month: I see. Listen, brother April, take my turn!

April: I am April in spring,

I have flowers to bring! (даритцветы)

Mary: Oh, I can’t believe my eyes! Thank you!

Mary went home and brought flowers.

Daughter: Look, flowers! Give me! Quick!

Stepmother: No! Give me! Quick! (всёломают,рассыпают)

Daughter: Listen, Mum, I want berries!

Stepmother: Berries?! It’s winter now!

Daughter: I don’t care! I want berries!

Stepmother: Oh! My pretty child! It’s ok. Mary, go to the forest and bring us berries!

Mary: But it’s January now!

Stepmother: Don’t speak, just do it!

A poor girl put on her coat, took a basket and went to the forest again. She went to the fire and asked twelve men for help.

Month: Why are you in the forest again? It is cold!

Month: It is dark!

Mary: For berries!

Month: But it’s winter now!

Mary: I know, but my stepmother and her daughter said to bring berries.

Month: I see. Listen, brother June, take my turn!

April: I am June, I am hot!

Pick up berries in the pot! (Дает кувшин с ягодами)

Mary: Oh, I can’t believe my eyes! Thank you!

Mary went home and brought berries.

Daughter: Look, berries! Give me! Quick!

Stepmother: No! Give me! Quick! (всёломают,рассыпают)

Daughter: Listen, Mum, I want apples!

Stepmother: Apples?! It’s winter now!

Daughter: I don’t care! I want apples!

Stepmother: Oh! My pretty child! It’s ok. Mary, go to the forest and bring us apples!

Mary: But it’s January now!

Stepmother: Don’t speak, just do it!

A poor girl put on her coat, took a basket and went to the forest again. She went to the fire and asked twelve months for help.

Month: Why are you in the forest again? It is cold!

Month: It is dark!

Mary: For apples!

Month: But it’s winter now!

Mary: I know, but my stepmother and her daughter said to bring apples.

Month: I see. Listen, August-brother, take my turn!

April: I am August, I am sunny!

I bring apples, nuts and honey! (Даеткорзину с яблоками)

Mary: Oh, I can’t believe my eyes! Thank you!

Mary went home and brought apples. But she was so hungry, that on her way home she ate half of apples. So, when she was at home, there were few apples in her basket.

Daughter: Look, apples! Give me! Quick!

Stepmother: No! Give me! Quick! (всёломают,рассыпают)

Daughter: I have eaten!

Stepmother: And I have eaten!

Daughter: I want more!

Stepmother: and I want more! Let’s go to the forest ourselves.

Daughter: Show us the way!

Mary: But I can’t!!!

Stepmother: Don’t speak, just do it!

They went to the forest together. It was snowing hard, and Mary could hardly find the way. At last they went to the fire.

Stepmother: Hey, men, give us apples, many apples!

Daughter: And more flowers and berries! Quick!

Months: Good evening!

Stepmother: Hello, hello, apples, flowers and berries!

Daughter: And nuts and honey!

Month: You are not polite!

Daughter: I don’t care! Give me what I want!

January: go to that big fir-tree then up the hill and there you will find what you want!

I am January, I am the coldest.

It is getting frosty in the forest! (замерзают, не могут двигаться)

January: And you Mary, go home and be happy!

Mary: Thank you for your help, good bye!

Spring came. Stepmother and her Daughter got warm and went home, but they didn’t find Mary there. She met a prince (выходитпринц) and they fell in love and married. They lived long and were very-very happy!
