За сценой слышен смех.

Pupil 1: What does it mean? Who can tell me? Right you are. It is a «Laugh Day» coming.

Pupil 2: Laugh makes people healthy and kind. Humanity has been laughing since it came into being.

Ведущий: Дорогие друзья, мы все собрались здесь для того, чтобы окунуться в мир юмора и потом чаще оставаться в нём. А сейчас мы заглянем в витрину книжного магазина.

Сцена №1

Girl : Hello!Isthisabook-shop?

Book-seller: Yes, it is, and Iꞌm a book-seller. What can I do for you?

Girl : Have you got a book of humor? Iꞌd like to buy it.

Book-seller: Iꞌm sorry, little girl, but I have no book of humor today. I have Pushkin, Gogol, Turgenev and others.

Girl : But Mummy says that book-sellers always have the books of humor.

Book-seller: I told you that I have no book of humor today, little girl.

Girl : But Mummy says that book-sellers always have the books of humor. Here is the money for one of the books.

Book-seller: Little girl, I have no book of humor today.

Girl : But Mummy says that…

Book-seller: Go away, little girl!

Girl : But Mummy says …

Book-seller: I tell you, go away, little girl

Девочкаубегает.

Pupil 1: Laugh prolongs our life. Do you want to live longer? Then let ꞌs laugh together.

Ведущий: Не плачь, девочка. Конечно, жаль, что сегодня тебе не удалось купить книгу с юморесками. Но, я думаю, сегодня наши ребята сумеют тебя рассмешить.

Девочка садиться среди зрителей.

Ведущий: Вспомните юмор Марка Твена. Может быть, нам уже строит козни Индеец Джо или Принц хочет пригласить нас в свой дворец? Но сначала давайте вместе с Марком Твеном заглянем на одну из ферм.

Сцена №2.

Pupil 2: The play we begin our party with is called Shut the door! The characters of the play are the Old Man, his wife – the Old Woman, two Strangers.

(The wife puts a pie on the table. The husband, the Old Man, comes in with a sack of firewood on his shoulders. He puts down the sack and goes to the table. He leaves the door open.)

Old Man: There is some firewood. Iꞌll put the kettle on.

Wife: Now cut the pie and weꞌll have tea.

Old Man: And you shut the door.

Old Woman: No, why? You must shut the door.

Old Man: Why? Canꞌ t you shut the door while I cut the pie?

Old Woman: I can, but I wonꞌ t. You must. You came in last. You shut the door. You must.

Old Man: No, I wonꞌ t, and thatꞌ s that.

Old Woman: Well, and I won ꞌt. You go and shut it.

Old Man: Look herе, wife. Let us sit down. The one who speaks first will shut the door.

Old Woman: I won ꞌt speak, I wonꞌ t move, you may be sure.

Old Man: And I wonꞌ t.

(They sit and neither of them speaks or moves. Two Strangers enter.)

1^st Stranger: What a funny house! The door is open.

2^nd Stranger: Perhaps they are expecting guests.

1^st Stranger Oh, look! There is an apple-pie on the table.

2^nd Stranger: Let us taste it!

1^st Stranger: We shall see if it is good.

2^nd Stranger: Let us taste it once more.

1^st Stranger: Iꞌ ll do the same.

2^nd Stranger: I ꞌll take another piece.

1^st Stranger: Iꞌ ll take the rest into my sack.

2^nd Stranger: And Iꞌ ll put some pieces in mine, too.

1^st Stranger: But the pie is not cooked properly.

2^nd Stranger: Indeed, itꞌ s not, it is not cooked properly.

Wife: No,no! My pie is cooked properly!

(The Strangers quickly run out.)

Old Man: Wife, shut the door! Youspokefirst!

Сцена №3.

Ведущий: Сейчас посмотрим пьесу Tap,tap! Герои-братьяисёстры.

(The four children are sitting round the table. Supper is over. There are plates, cups, saucers on the table)

Ann: Have you already done all your lessons, Mary?

Mary: I have to learn a poem by heart.

Ann: Is it long? Read it aloud!

Mary: No, it isnꞌt long. Listen, everybody!

Little Willie Winkie

Runs through the town,

Upstairs and downstairs

In his night –gown,

Rapping at the windows,

Crying through the lock

Are the children all in bed?

For now itꞌs ten oꞌclock!

Mike: And itꞌs nearly ten oꞌclock now. Itꞌs time to go to bed. Donꞌt forget, Mary, you girls must clear the table.

Mary: You boys can do it.

Tom: Girls should do it.

Ann: Why should they? I think boys should do it sometimes.

Mike: I donꞌt think so. They…(A tap on the door heard) Who is there?( All wait. No answer.)

( Another tap is heard.)

Tom : Who is there? (No answer.) Who is that?

Ann: Mother and Father are not at home! Who can it be? Iꞌm frightened!

Mary: Perhaps it is a stranger. Tom, go and open the door!

Tom : Why must I go? Perhaps itꞌs a robber!

Mike: Perhaps itꞌs Little Willie Winkie!

(The boys laugh, but donꞌt move.)

Mary: Donꞌt laugh, boys! Better go and open the door! Do you hear! Oh,now I am frightened,too!

Mike: Well, Tom, or Mary, or Ann can go to the door, I shall clear the table.

Ann: But you say boys donꞌt have to clear the table. You go to the door,Mike, and I will do it.

Mary: Of course, there are robbers!

Mike: I donꞌt think so, robbers do not tap. They just break open the door and walk in.

Tom: They may do that any minute! Mike is the eldest, he must go.

Mike: Alone?

Tom: Yes, alone, but you can take a stick…

Ann: And a knife.

Mary: And a hammer.

(They bring all these things and give them to Mike. He walks slowly to the door. Again the tap is heard. Mike jumps back and falls down.)

Mike: Oh, my leg, my leg! (The children run up to him.) Now, I canꞌt go to the door! (Comes hopping on one leg to the table.)

Tom: Now I must be your guard. I canꞌt leave you now. (He takes the knife and the hammer and stands at Mikeꞌs chair. Another tap is heard)

Mary: I canꞌt stand this. I shall go! (Goes up to the door) Whoꞌs there? Answer or Iꞌll open the door! Answer quickly! One, two, three! (She opens the door.)

Ann: Oh, look, itꞌs only our cat. She is playing with that wooden ball! Father tied on a cord for the cat to play with. Look! (Touches the ball with her hand, and everybody hears «tap,tap»)

Mike: (runs up to her): Of course, it is the wooden ball! Oh, you silly children, afraid of a little kitten and its ball!

Mary: And howꞌs your leg? I see it is all right again. You are very brave now that everything is clear! You and Tom were not so brave five minutes ago!

Pupil 1: Laugh prolongs our life. Do you want to live longer? Thenletꞌslaugh .
