Цель:  активизация изученного материала и подведение итогов работы за I полугодие.

Задачи:

обобщение и систематизация полученных знаний в новой коммуникативной ситуации,

развитие положительной мотивации, 

развитие творческих способностей учащихся,

повышение интереса учащихся к изучению английского языка.

воспитание чувства удовлетворения от своих знаний, умения дружно работать в команде.

Оборудование:

Красочно оформленная доска.

Буквы алфавита.

Карточки с заданиями для конкурсной программы.

Музыкальное оформление.

Картинки.

ХОД МЕРОПРИЯТИЯ

Teacher: Good afternoon dear boys and girls, teachers and guests! I am very glad to meet you.

Pupils: Good afternoon,

We are glad to see you.

Teacher: Today we are celebrating ABC holiday.

We have a holiday today, the ABC party
We  shall sing, we shall dance
We shall speak and read at once!
You know all letters well
You  can read them and spell!
Do you know the ABC?

Let me introduce our judges (introduces judges). They will give you tasks and count your points.

At our holiday we have three teams and we will name them. Oh, but how? Well, I have an idea. Name me the first letter of English alphabet (the team the first to name the letter gets the name “А”) and the last one (the second team is called “Z”). And the third team will be ABC. Let’s start. Today we will play a lot of games and the first game is for captains. Meet the captains. This is… and this is… (names the captains)..

 And now tell us about yourselves.

Captains: 

(Model: My name is Sasha and I am 7 years old. I am from Russia and I live in ….. I am in the second class and I like English.)

Teacher:Thanks a lot for your stories. You can speak English and that’s great. And can you read and write? Do you know all English letters? Before the next game I want you to answer my questions about the alphabet.

D is for dog and for doggy

E is for English. At school we learn Russian and English too.
Do you like English? Yes, I do.

F is for five and also for four. Five little dogs playing by the door,
One runs away and now they are four.

G is for girl, the girl is six.
She likes to play with little chicks.

H is for hat, Ann has a hat.
I’m a boy, I have a cap.

I is for I. I am a boy.
What have I? I have a toy.

J is for jam. Two little boys, Johnny and Sam,
Sit down to have some tea and jam.

K is for kite, Kate has a kite.
Her kite is little, and it is white.

L is for letters, do you know them all?
Yes, I do, twenty six in all.

M is for mother. I agree she is fine.
You love your mother and I love mine.

N is for night. Good night mother, good night father,
Kiss your little son.
Good night sister, good night brother,
Good night everyone.

O is for one. One and two is three.
Three little cats are in the tree.

P is for pencils. Peter has a pencil, Peter has a pen.
He paints with his pencil and writes with his pen.

Q is for questions. How do you do, my dear sister Sue?
Very well, thank you, and how are you?

R is for roses, they are white and red.
“Give me this rose, please”, says little Fred.

S is for spring and for summer too,
When it’s warm and the sky is blue.

T is for tick and for tock.
“Tick-tock, tick – tock”, says little clock.

U is for under, but not for at.
“I’m under the tree”, says brother Pat.

V is in five and also in seven,
It is in twelve and in eleven.

W is for Willy and also for why.
Why do you cry Willy, why do you cry?

X is in six. Let’s count to six.
One, two, three, four, five, six.

Y is for yard, where children play.
They play in the yard every day.

Z is for zoo. Let’s go to the zoo.
I like to go to the zoo, and you?

Teacher And now game 2. Oh, but I have a serious problem. All the letters in my bag are mixed. Help me to put them in pairs: big and small. (Gives cards with letters to the participants, e. g. a A to join them together Aa)

Teacher: I see you know all the letters very well. Name them please.

(Pupils name their letters)

Teacher: Nowgame 3. You write a missing letter. (1 point for each correct letter).

Каждая команда получает карточки с заданием вставить пропущенные буквы в словах и перевести их на русский язык.

Teacher: Well done! (Almost) all the letters are correct. And do you know how to read the letters? Let’s check it in game 4. The quickest gets 1 point. Which letter is read as /r/, /e/, /k/, /h/, /kw/, /w/..? (Pupils name the letters and show them).

 I think you are pretty tired. Let’s do some exercises. But I can’t do them because I am not young. Who can help me?

Pupil: I can. (He or she stands in front of the pupils and they sing a song “If you are happy”)

Teacher let us play in game 5. One member from each team will jump and name the words starting with letters…….(A, C, M, F,I, B,G)

Участники команд проходят по “болотным кочкам” (карточки с буквами разложенные на полу) и называют слова, которые начинаются с этой буквы.Teacher: Brilliant! But I think it was an easy task for such clever girls and boys. And the nextgame 6 is “Scrambled letters”. Put the letters correctly to make a word. (Here a computer can be used to show letters on a big screen and children put them in order with a computer mouse).

Teacher: Bravo! And now game 7. Let’s do the snake from words. The last letter is the beginning of the next word, e. g. it-top-pin…. The team that makes the longest snake is the winner. (1 point for each word)

Teacher: You are very smart and bright. You know everything. I am very sorry but it’s time to finish our holiday. And let’s do it with a merry song about English alphabet. It is our final game. (The pupils sing 2 songs, judges count points)
